The fastest lines that are currently available can get data across the line at a staggering 9.6 gigabits per second.

It is important to keep in mind that technology continually advances, especially technology connected to computers and internet. Many people can still remember when dial-up was a viable way to connect to the internet, and now almost every home has a high speed connection.
